NANA ESI
Nana Esi

MailInstagram
is a designer, art director, contributor, mentor & type virtuoso.

Her design practice is both imaginative and research-based. Infused with a metamodernist approach, her work investigates embodied language, oscillating between semiotics and haptics. Contemplating on foresight she's inquisitive to configure the unanticipated, tweaking reality across any medium, material or space.

Her assimilation process aims to edit and engineer clever solutions with authenticity, embracing chaos and structure, confusion and clarity.

With her experience collaborating, designing, and co-creating identities with a large variety of remarkable clients and institutions, Nana has established herself as a seasoned polymath. She's of Belgian-Ghanaian heritage, is based in Brussels, and currently teaches graphic design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

is an independent designer based in Brussels. Working across a wide spectrum of artistic disciplines —visual art, music, and fashion— she specialises in art direction, typography, and consulting. Her practice explores how different types of content can be translated into visual identities, printed materials, spatial designs, and events.

Sophie's approach is spontaneous and intuitive, reflecting the fast pace of contemporary city life. Her aesthetics playfully reflect a childhood in Belgium, resulting in a vivacious style strongly evoking mood and movement. Both through her graphic work and event-based interventions, she challenges the receiver to participate in unexpected ways, questioning what distinguishes a spectator from an audience.

Sophie has or had long-term collaborations with Beursschouwburg, Damian & the Love Guru, Wiels, and Celador, among others.

In a parallel universe, Sophie creates bar installations and performances, independently and in collaboration with artist Agatha Wara, responding to the saturation of today's monoculture.

Furthermore, she co-runs the project Kaotic with a K with Priya Shetty, inviting artists to create T-shirts.

Atelier Brenda is a graphic design studio founded by Nana Esi and Sophie Keij in 2012.

Brenda's work is characterised by the spontaneous nature of design and the dynamic interplay between the conscious and the subconscious. The practice seeks to explore and deepen our understanding of the murky world we live in, engaged by surpassing disciplines and tweaking reality.
As of 2026, the designers work independently on their own practices.

They have established themselves as specialists in visual identity, delighted to reflect this proficiency across any medium. Their creation process is both contemporary and reminiscent, imaginative and research-based.
